What expectations do you have for your life and for yourself? These are not the big ones but more the moment to moment or daily expectations. Are you looking for a new house? A new job? A soul mate? Do you expect that you will find one soon? Do you expect that your child will wake up in a bad mood because they went to bed later than you would have liked? Do you think the school will be open to your queries about your child?
The results we experience are literally a reflection of our expectations of the situation. Try this experiment. When you get up in the morning write down three things that you expect to happen that day. Start with small things and work your way up to larger ones. Then set the paper aside and go about your day. What happened at the end of the day? Did your expectations come about? If not, why not? were you thinking about them too much? Did you truly believe in them when you wrote them? Try this for a few days and see what happens.
